H.E. Abdulla Al Sahi is the Executive Director of the Planning and Infrastructure Sector at the Abu Dhabi Urban Planning Council (UPC).
His role includes supervising the preparation and update of urban and strategic plans for Abu Dhabi, and identifying the frameworks for urban growth, land use, transport and infrastructure. He is also responsible for the development of the UPC’s policies and urban development regulations, such as the development code, which identifies the uses and development of land, as well as planning manuals, such as the Abu Dhabi Urban Street Design Manual and the Abu Dhabi Public Realm Design Manual, both of which contribute to building integrated and sustainable urban communities.
Before taking on his current position, H.E. Al Sahi was Executive Director of the Corporate Services Sector at the UPC H.E. Al Sahi has nearly 15 years of experience in general investment, planning and urban development, energy and corporate services, through his extensive work in different sectors at Mubadala and Tawazun, where he worked before joining the UPC. He has led several initiatives to encourage Emirati planners to enter the urban planning profession through cooperation with the International Society of City and Regional Planners (ISOCARP) and regional universities that specialise in urban planning.
H.E. Al Sahi holds a Bachelors Degree in Economics and a Masters in Management Studies from Boston University, USA.
